Jim Alexander

Senior Vice President

Jim Alexander brings over 30 years of experience working all sides of domestic and international deals – as a for-profit and non-profit economic developer, as a site and incentives consultant and as a client/end user. Through all of his work, Jim focuses on providing clients and partners with value. What would he most want potential clients to know about St. Louis? “We are a world-class center for innovation in financial services, cyber security, plant and agtech, and we are an emerging geospatial technology leader,” he says. The best part of working in St. Louis, he says, is “the smart, passionate and dedicated people I engage with every day.”
Tim Alexander

Tim Alexander

Senior Director of Research

Tim Alexander is fascinated by Greater St. Louis. After more than 20 years as a professional business researcher, analyst and writer, Tim adds value to the plethora of facts and figures by summarizing, analyzing, interpreting and reporting them effectively for AllianceSTL clients. He says his favorite thing about his job is learning about St. Louis's “endlessly interesting history, businesses and culture.” The Greater St. Louis region, he says, is a microcosm of America. “We parallel the U.S. in many ways, including our people, industries and economy as well as history, culture and interests,” he says.
Lori Becklenberg

Lori Becklenberg

Vice President

Lori Becklenberg compares her job to that of a concierge at a four-star hotel, providing clients with resources they need to address any issue. The economic development veteran most enjoys meeting new people and introducing them to the St. Louis region – “and seeing how surprised they are by all there is besides the Arch.” On her list of things you must know about St. Louis: the unifying power of the St. Louis Cardinals and Cardinal Nation; the delectable taste of gooey butter cake; and the surprising variety of the region's different neighborhoods. And, she adds, don't forget the award-winning St. Louis Zoo: “Who doesn't love animals?”

As senior vice president of marketing and communications for AllianceSTL, Greg tells the St. Louis story both as an accomplished professional but also as a longtime resident who's enthusiastic about the region's quality of life. "It's a treat to have easy accessibility to world-class professional sports, live music, culinary experiences, fine arts and outdoor recreation," he says. "There are so many exciting things going on here for any age or interest level, and the list just keeps growing."
Jennifer Hecht

Project Coordinator

Jennifer Hecht helps keep her AllianceSTL colleagues on track and organized. The project management veteran grew up in Texas but loves calling St. Louis home. “I came to college here and never left,” Jennifer says, citing “the variety of things to do – amazing restaurants, hiking trails, great parks, access to rivers and lakes, free museums and the St. Louis Zoo in Forest Park. We also have a great beer and wine scene, and a lot of options for fun day or weekend trips.” She’s a big fan of the region’s typically short commutes, affordability and entrepreneurial spirit. “There is so much growth and revitalization happening here right now,” she says. “It is a great time to be an entrepreneur in Greater St. Louis.”
Felicia Holyfield

Felicia Holyfield

Executive Assistant

Felicia Holyfield has provided exemplary customer service in administrative support for close to four decades. Felicia says that among the best attributes of the St. Louis region is its ease of access – most places are a half-hour away or less. But what really has this church choir member singing St. Louis' praises is the region's combination of low cost of living and high level of amenities. St. Louis, she insists, is endlessly surprising. And that's a tune she'll keep singing. “The best part about St. Louis is there is so much to realize and discover,” she says.

Steve Johnson

Steve Johnson has led business recruitment efforts in local, regional and statewide organizations for more than three decades. As the leader of AllianceSTL, he loves seeing the surprise on people's faces when they begin to realize what makes the St. Louis region special. He counts the easy accessibility of urban amenities as perhaps its biggest draw. “Within 30 minutes of leaving my house, I can be riding my bike alongside the Missouri River on the Katy Trail or parking my car to go to a Cardinals game,” he marvels. “It doesn’t get much better than that.” As the AllianceSTL team earns success, he says, “Many people throughout St. Louis will have a better life. A good job – or a better job than the one you have now – changes everything, and it’s a change that ripples through multiple generations.”
